PURPOSE:To make the processing simple and check the accurate inclination of a document by detecting an upper position correction mark and checking the inclination, previously calculating a deviation position from the tilt angle, and detecting a lower position correction mark for the detected position. CONSTITUTION:A position correction mark detection part 2 reads position information on a position correction mark out of a position correction mark information storage part 1, accesses an image memory 4 through an area cutting control part 3 according to the read information to read an image including peripheral images, and retrieves the upper position correction mark in them. The inclination of the document is checked through an upper mark inclination detection part 5 and the position of the lower position correction mark is estimated from the position correction mark information storage part 1 according to the estimated inclination angle; and the image memory 4 is accessed through the area cutting control part 3 and the lower position correction mark is retrieved. Lastly, the horizontal and vertical deviation quantities and inclinations are detected from the retrieval coordinates of the upper position correction mark and lower position correction mark. |
