PURPOSE:To prevent an optical device from being deteriorated or damaged while saving power by connecting/disconnecting appropriately the driving power source of a driving circuit in a light transmission part or a light receiving part corresponding to the connecting state of an optical connector provided on the middle way of an optical transmission line. CONSTITUTION:This equipment is constituded so as receive a light signal sent from the light transmission part 1 with the light receiving part 3 via the optical transmission lines 2a, 2b consisting of optical fibers and to demodulate the light signal to an electric signal at the light receiving part, and it is provided with the driving circuit 4 which drives at least either the light transmission part 1 or the light receiving part 3, optical fiber connectors 5a, 5b provided on the middle way of the optical transmission lines loadably/unloadably freely, and an operating switch 7 which connects/disconnects the driving power source 6 of the driving circuit corresponding to the loading/unloading state of the optical fiber connectors. The driving power source can be applied only when the optical fiber connectors are connected. |
