PURPOSE:To effectively prevent dust, etc., from sticking to a slider. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical disk device is equipped with the slider 22 arranged on the side of one surface of a magneto-optical disk and having at least a field coil 21 which selectively approaches the surface of the magneto- optical disk through an opening part 25e and an optical pickup 24 arranged on the side of the other surface of the magneto-optical disk and having an objective lens 23. A dust proof mechanism 61 having a shutter 63 for selectively closing the opening part 25e and a cleaning member 64 for selectively touching the surface of the slider 22 on the side of the magneto-optical disk is provided, and when the slider 22 is not allowed to approach the surface of the magneto- optical disk, the opening part 25e is closed by the shutter 63, and also the cleaning member 64 is brought into contact with the surface of the slider 22 on the side of the magneto-optical disk. |
