PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery, excellent in a cycle life, capable of repeating charge and discharge by forming a hollow carbon molecule film on the surface of metallic lithium or its allay opposing to a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:A separator 3 is provided between a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 1, and a negative electrode can 7, which is press-fitted on an external side surface of the positive electrode 2 contacting with a collector 5a, and a negative electrode cap 6, which contacts with a collector 5b press- fitted on an external side surface of the negative electrode 1, are sealed with an insulative body 8. A hollow carbon molecule film 4 is formed on the surface of the negative electrode 1 opposing to the positive electrode 2, and a hollow carbon molecule designated by a molecular formula Cn (where n>=60) is used as the hollow carbon molecule film 4. Accordingly, a lithium secondary battery, which is excellent in cycle life of charge-and-discharge and has high electromotive force as well as high energy density, can be provided. |
