PURPOSE:To efficiently store image data in a special image area in a specific area. CONSTITUTION:An image reader 11 reads the image in the specific area including a special image such as a seal impression and stores it in an input buffer 13. The image stored in the input image buffer 13 is supplied to an image segmentation part 14 to segment only the special image area, which is stored in a segmentation buffer 17. The image data stored in this segmentation buffer 17 are compressed by an image compression part 18 and stored in an external storage device 21 by an image output device 20. |
