PURPOSE:To extend the backup time by charging a storage battery by a DC rectified from an AC, and connecting the battery on the trouble side in parallel with a storage battery on the sound side when one of uninterruptible power sources connected in parallel with an inverter for inverting the DC becomes defective during stopping of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 1 is input to a plurality of uninterruptible power sources 2, 6 connected in parallel. The power sources 2, 6 generate DC by converters 12, 13, charge storage batteries 4, 8, generate VVVF by inverters 5, 9, and drive a load 10. When a power interruption detector 19 detects power interruption or voltage drop of the power source 1 and a trouble detector 15 of a controller 14 detects a trouble of the inverter 9, an AND circuit 16 produces an output to open a switch 11. Simultaneously, a gate control switching circuit 17 is operated, the converter 13 is switched to a switch mode, and the battery 8 on the trouble side is connected in parallel with the battery 4 on the sound side. Thus, the battery is effectively used to extend a backup time. |
