PURPOSE:To provide the element which is a biomembrane model constituted by using a lipid thin film as a basic structure and disposing the protein reacting with various ions or chemical materials in this film and applies vibrations changing variously in correspondence to the external stimulus, such as photoirradiation or a chemical material. CONSTITUTION:This element consists of an ionic aq. soln. 2, an ion pump 3p installed thereon and the lipid thin film 3 embedded with an ion channel 3c and an electrode 6 for transmitting the film potential of this lipid thin film 3 as an electric signal. The ion pump 3p actively transfers the specific ion in the ionic aq. soln. from one side toward the other side of the lipid thin film by the external stimulus, such as photoirradiation 4. Then ion channel 3c opens when the film potential difference on both sides of the lipid thin film attains the certain threshold. The ion of the same code as the code of the ion obtd. by actively transferring the specific ion by the ion pump 3p is passively transferred. The opening and closing of the ion channel 3c are repeated when such lipid thin film 3 is subjected to the photoirradiation, by which the electric vibration signal is generated.
