PURPOSE:To make the optical waveguide module easier than a slitformed type and make the man-hours of assembly less than a separately providing method by inserting an optical filter at the connection point between an optical waveguide and an optical fiber array. CONSTITUTION:The optical filter 30 is interposed between the optical waveguide 10 and optical fiber array 20, the end surface of the optical waveguide 10 is cut slantingly or polished, and the optical filter 30 is stuck on the surface with an adhesive. In this case, a refractive index matching agent may be used. A connection block 24 for the optical fiber array 20 is similarly fixed on the optical filter 30. A filter formed of a dielectric multi-layered film is generally used as the optical filter 30 and the end surface is cut slantingly to suppress reflected return light as known, but may be cut vertically when the reflected return light is not important. Namely, it is important to interpose the optical filter 30 between the optical waveguide 10 and optical fiber array 20 and this is applied to any pattern of the waveguide 16. |
