The handlebar has two half bends (21,22), each joined to the handlebar support bracket by a centre section (51,52). The extreme bar ends (71,72) form the handles. The connecting centre (51,52) and the handle sections (71,72) are rigid zones. Between the centre section (51,52) and the handles (71,72) are intermediate sections (61,62). These intermediate sections (61,62) are stiff in the steering plane (P2), but are less stiff in a perpendicular plane (P1), deforming elastically, providing movement at the handles (71,72). The handlebar is of long continuous fibre composite. ADVANTAGE - Attenuates vibrations to hands from road surfaces. Simpler, lighter and less costly than other non rigid types.
