The infrared lamp has a number of IR light emitting diodes (D) mounted on one or more baseplates (T1, T2, T3), the diodes having the same or different radiation beam angles. The IR diodes are directed in at least two different radiation directions. IR diodes directed in the same direction are pref. arranged in a common circuit and the diodes having the same beam angle are aligned in the same direction. In order to produce radiation directions other than in the direction normal to the baseplate, the diodes are fixed at a set angle w.r.t. the baseplate. ADVANTAGE - Provides homogenous illumination.
