A plastics suction system for i.c. engines with an integral air collector is made of two half-dish members with peripheral flange and these are welded together gas and water-tight. The flanges are held together by a clamp device, at least over parts of the circumference of the air collector; this device is made one-piece with a throttle valve supporting body attached to the air collector. The suction system is preferably made of polyamide 6.6 and the supporting body polyphenylenesulphide. ADVANTAGE - The product is inexpensive (in contrast with existing types). It is suitable for use in petrol engines.
