摘要 The cannula (5) forms a passage in the tissue drilled through by the obturator (2) drill point (3) so an endoscope or surgical tool may be inserted into the body cavity. The cannula is formed from a soft material pref. of PTFE, polyurethane resin, polyurethane plastic, PVC or similar. It has a proximal open end at which a housing (6) is formed. The housing (6) is pref. made of soft material, and the drill point (3) comprises an electrode device connected to a hf energy source. Detection devices assess a hf current fed to the electrode device from the hf energy source, and control appts. emits a control signal to interrupt feed of hf current when the detected hf current is less than a fixed value. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in surgical practice, esp. in thoracic cage operations, to penetrate between the ribs so a cannula remains for insertion of a surgical tool.
