The present invention relates to a feed device for media to be moved, especially recording media. The device preferably consists of a pair of pressure rollers (17, 20) which is pressed against a roller (2) by means of permanent magnets (10, 11). The magnetic circuit is completed by the ferromagnetic region (6a, 6b) of the roller (2). The pressure rollers are made of non-ferromagnetic material, especially plastic, and are at least partially within the magnets (10, 11) or supporting components (12, 13; 14, 15) conducting the magnetic flux. This has the advantage that the pressures exerted by the pair of pressure rollers (17, 20) can be increased without any change in the inertia behaviour. This feed device is therefore especially suitable for start/stop operation.
