The test appts. includes an ultrasonic receiver (8) which is equipped with a threshold value suppression system. The evaluation unit (9) is provided with acoustic means e.g. headphones (11) and/or optical indicating means (10). The system can be used for monitoring cable systems with stretches of cable and a multiple of cable boxes. A central ultrasonic receiver is arranged in the respective cable box, which is assigned to the cable sleeve (1) arranged in the respective cable box. ADVANTAGE - Provides continuous sealing monitoring in simple manner in cable networks with or without pressure.
