<p>A quick release connection device (1) for securing flanged pipes together comprises a clamping collar (4) having a plurality of clamp parts (5-8) articulated together and including first and second collar parts (5,8) at opposite ends of the collar (4) and a connecting member (12) hinged to the first collar part (5) and pivotable relative thereto on actuation of power-operable moving means (31) between a connecting position in which it is connected by a resilient connection (15) to the second collar part (8) and a releasing position in which it is disconnected from the second collar part (8), the first collar part (5) opening under the action of the resilient connection (15) as the connecting member (12) moves from its connecting position to its releasing position. An opening mechanism acts on the second collar part (8) to cause the latter to open on pivotal movement of the connecting member (12) into its releasing position. <IMAGE></p> |
