The method of regenerating water softeners for treating the water used by a domestic electric appliance provides successively for a step in which water to be softened flows through a substance (20) having decalcifying properties, a step in which a regenerating brine flows through the substance (20) with decalcifying properties in the opposite direction to that followed by the water to be softened, and then for a step in which water for rinsing off the residue of brine flows through the substance (20) with decalcifying properties in the same direction as the regenerating brine. <IMAGE> |
