PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of gear change while ensuring sufficient acceleration and highest speed. CONSTITUTION:The controller for motor vehicle comprises a gear position sensor 1 for detecting the gear position of a 2-speed transmission, a vehicle speed sensor 2, a throttle opening sensor 3, and a controller 4 for controlling a DC shunt motor driving a motor vehicle based on the outputs from the sensors 1, 2, 3. A correlation map defined depending on the vehicle speed and the throttle opening for each gear position of the transmission is previously stored in an inner memory of the controller 4, and the correlation characteristics of the armature current and the field current of the motor 5 are switched from first correlation characteristics to second correlation characteristics, or reversely, according to the stored correlation switching map. |
