PURPOSE:To provide a method to change the document constitution so as to print a document file under production in a smaller number of pages by using a computer consisting of a CPU, a memory, an input/output device, and an external storage or a word processor applying the computer. CONSTITUTION:The format size and the inter-line pitch which are set for production of a document area read out in a step 202. Then an inter-line pitch is calculated in a step 204 in order to compress the character lines of the final page into those of its precedent page in a step 204 based on the format size and the inter-line pitch read in the step 202. Then the inter-line pitch of a document file is changed in a step 207 based on the inter-line pitch calculated in the step 204. In such a way, the number of pages is decreased less for the document file under production. As a result, the number of sheet of necessary forms can be decreased and the resources can be saved. |
