<p>PURPOSE:To easily obtain an excellent reproduced picture at the high speed reproduction by recording a code of a low frequency component or an MSB of a quantization bit in codes of refresh blocks divided into plural blocks to a prescribed area. CONSTITUTION:A circuit calculating a generated code quantity of a refresh block divides codes of refresh blocks into plural codes so that a prescribed maximum code quantity in a prescribed number of blocks is not exceeded and a code of a low frequency component or an MSB of a quantization bit is recorded in a prescribed area. A video code subjected to band compression coding from a variable length coding circuit 16 is fed to a code replacement circuit 39. Furthermore, a refresh block control circuit 40 generates a code position signal of a refresh block and gives the signal to the code replacement circuit 39. An output of the code replacement circuit 39 is fed to an index insertion circuit 41, an output of the index insertion circuit 41 is fed to heads A, B via a multiplexer 43 and recorded on a magnetic tape 26.</p> |
