<p>In a process of shaping slabs and other articles from polyphenylene oxide foam, the article is impregnated, prior to shaping, with methodanol and/or ethanol. The impregnant is removed after shaping. The foam may be shaped without stresses arising in the material. The pores are not affected by the treatment and there is no collapsed of the cell walls. Used in prodn of heat-insulating elements around pipes or tanks.</p> |
