<p>Phenethylthiol carbamic esters, herbicides. New cpds. of formula (I) are active as selective pre- and post-emergence herbicides having particular use in rice crops: (where R2 = opt. satd. C1-C4 hydrocarbyl; R1 = R2 and H). (I) may be prepd. by reaction of: (where M1 is H, halogen, alkali metal or equiv.). In an example, 16 g. (II) (M1 = Na) was treated with 13.6 g. (III) (R1 = R2 = C2H2) in acetone to give 21.5 g. (I), b. pt. 130-132 degrees C/0.2 mmHg.</p> |
