The aerial consists of sensors (H-B to H+B) distributed with a constant step spacing in a linear array. Together these sensors form an assembly or 'macro-sensor'. The response of separate macro-sensors (MCA,MCB) is then weighted by using a selective cabling system combining series and parallel elements. The configuration is chosen in order to approach the theoretically determined weighting law. USE/ADVANTAGE - Sensor may be used in towed underwater probe for prospecting, with effects of parasitic noise propagating within structure being minimised. Esp. mechanically induced noise is minimised.
