PURPOSE:To effectively execute preservation maintenance by grasping the transition of emitted light quantity control value and systematically using grasped data. CONSTITUTION:When the light reception-side sensitivity of an optical sensor is deteriorated, a light-emitting side light quantity is ranked up stepwise. When the optical sensor reaches prescribed performance by the emitted light quantity, the emitted light quantity control value is recorded in a memory with date and time. Then, the change of the control value is reported to a host system. Transition data on the emitted light quantity control value in the period is printed and displayed by a command by a maintenance operation by a maintenance man. It becomes possible how the emitted light quantity control value of the optical sensor changes within the operation period of a device, which is previously regulated, by the execution of the operation management method of the optical sensor. When the performance of the optical sensor is deteriorated and the fault occurs, it can previously be judged that the fault is owing to the accidental adhesion of dust or the fault of an optical sensor circuit. |
