PURPOSE:To perform sure processing by storing storage to a storage means or outputting an alarm according to the rest capacity of the storage means. CONSTITUTION:The rest capacity alpha of a magnetooptic disk 210 or hard disks 220, 221,... at a transfer destination is calculated. Then alpha>=(beta-gamma) is calculated, where beta is the total capacity of a transfer file and gamma is the total capacity of the same file with the same name as the transfer file which is present at the transfer destination; when the rest capacity alpha is less than the difference capacity (beta-gamma), the alarm is outputted to inform an operator of a deficiency in the rest capacity of the transfer destination. When the rest capacity alpha is larger than the difference capacity (beta-gamma), the file having the same name with the transfer file is deleted if present at the transfer destination. When the file with the same name is not present, the transfer file is stored as it is.
