Attachment has a permanent magnet is embedded in the added dental device. A cap (3) covers the support root (5), including a post (4), made by metal casting. Cap has a flat disc (1) embedded in it made of ferromagnetic material. This is integrated in the wax of the cap model, when the cap itself is made by the lost wax technique. Magnet is entirely covered by a flexible material e.g. rubber, creating an elastic link, and slightly mobility between the two parts of the prosthesis, and also avoids direct contact and possible ionic transport between the elements. Magnetic disc (1) pref. has a peripheral groove which ensures its position is maintained within the cap. Magnet can be positioned using a thin disc with a hole in its centre which fits the magnet. Thin disc is used to hold the magnet in place during prepn. of the added prosthesis, as it can be deformed around the cap. USE - Magnetic attachment is for dental prosthesis.
