The receiver comprises a basic unit (1) fitted with different plug-in modules (2), each containing a HF reception circuit tuned to a respective paging network. The basic unit contains all the elements required for operation of the receiver which are universal to all the different plug-in modules. The plug-in modules pref. correspond to the paging networks used in different countries, allowing an international user to adapt the receiver as required by replacing the employed module. ADVANTAGE - Suitable for use in several different countries by simple replacement of plug-in module.
