PURPOSE:To especially prevent the illegal use of a magnetic card which is forged by providing an infrared light identification part absorbing/reflecting the infrared light of a prescribed wavelength for the magnetic card. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic card A is inserted from an insertion port at the time of paying a difference, the card is sent forward by a transportation roller B2 arranged immediately behind the insertion port. Light is irradiated from the light source part B4 of an infrared light sensor B3 to the infrared light identification material A3 of the magnetic card A, prescribed amount is absorbed and light is reflected toward a detection part B5. It is judged whether there is the infrared light identification material A3 in the magnetic card A or not by infrared light which is made incident on the detection part B5, and whether the infrared light identification material A3 is true or not by the absorbed amount of infrared light if the material exists. Thus, the truth of the magnetic card A is judged. Consequently, the magnetic card is prevented from being forged and illegaly used. |
