This cephalosporin derivative represents a novelty in controlling the spread of bacterial infections in human and veterinary medicine. It is obtained from readily procurable raw materials starting from a reduced number of intermediates. The derivative has the following formula:<IMAGE>The method comprises carrying out N-acylation of 7-amino-3-/5/-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrazolyl/-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid with a mixed anhydride obtained from 2,4-dimethyl-5-ethoxycarbonyl-3-carboxypyrol and alkyl chloroformate.
