The tap contains an entry (2) and an exit (3) port connected to the gas circuit, a shut off unit (4) situated between the two ports and an operating knob (5) for closing off the tap and locking it. The Knob (5) is made up of a hat (9) fitted to the operating shaft (10) that has an angular movement. Inside this shaft is the spring loaded locking plunger (12,13) mounted in a radial recess (14) which engages with a hole (16) in a curved section (15) of the body of the valve. Unlocking is by inserting a tool through a slot (9c) in the head (9) of the knob (5). Use/Advantage - As a distribution tap for gases at a medium pressure that can be closed in an emergency and automatically locked and cannot be opened by an unauthorized person.
