PURPOSE:To manufacture raw material powder for an R-Fe-B group permanent magnet, in which the B-rich phase and R-rich phase of a magnet constructive phase inhibiting improvement in R-Fe-B group permanent magnet characteristics can be reduced as much as possible, the R2Fe14B phase of the main phase is increased and the quantity of oxygen contained in alloy powder can be diminished and which manufactures alloy powder having a composition corresponding to various magnet characteristics. CONSTITUTION:Alloy powder for preparation, in which R of 60% or less of the whole quantity contains not more than 50at.% Nd2Fe17 phase, is added and compounded with R-Fe-B group alloy powder having a specific composition using R2Fe14B phase as main phase, thus forming additional Nd2Fe14B phase by the reaction of Nd2Fe17 phase in alloy powder for preparation and B-rich phase and Nd-rich phase in main phase group R-Fe-B group alloy powder. Accordingly, the quantities of B-rich phase and Nd-rich phase deteriorating the magnet characteristics of a permanent magnet can be reduced. |
