The front part of the seat rests on a floor cross member (3) through a lower leg (12) fixed to the seat or a runner (2), and passes horizontally through the cross member vertical wall (31). The rear part of the seat is fixed to the floor by bolts. The lower leg (12) is engaged by sliding into a case (13) which passes through the vertical wall (31) and engages in another vertical wall (35) of the cross member. The case (13) has a part (141) which project from the cross member outside and widens towards the top where the leg (12) rests which it guides when fitting the seat. The lower leg is of metal and the case (13) in plastics. USE/ADVANTAGE - Economically simplifies the number of operations for fitting the seat to the floor.
