PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for controlling the execution of image processing operations for an array of image signals. CONSTITUTION: Those operations are discriminated by plural windows 52 and 54 which are already provided. Those windows 52 and 54 are divided Into plural tiles which do not overlap each other, and the borders of those tiles correspond to shifts from one window area to another window area. Therefore, each tile forms an exclusive area in the array of image signals and prescribes an image processing operation applied to the signal in the border of the area. Data are stored in one of two memory banks, and consequently band switching and the reprogramming of the device are performed in real time. Windows in complicated shapes can be managed. While necessary decoding hardware is minimized, the discrimination of the tile areas can efficiently be managed. Further, flexible programming is enabled because of the improvement of memory use efficiency. |
