PURPOSE:To accurately detect an amount of remaining toner and to carry out toner cartridge replacement at a proper time, in an image forming device of an electrophotographic type in which toner replenishment is carried out by the attachment/detachment of a toner cartridge. CONSTITUTION:In the image forming device of the electrophotographic type which supplies toner T by causing it to fall from an opening 12 in the lower surface of the toner cartridge 1 loaded detachably, the toner T is stirred by moving a stirrer 2 which is housed in the toner cartridge 1 and composed of a magnetic body, by the use of magnets 3 which moves along the outside lower surface of the toner cartridge 1 loaded in the image forming device of the electrophotographic type. A detecting means which is electrically energized by its contact with the stirrer 2 is added to the inside end of the toner cartridge 1. |
