PURPOSE:To provide a battery, which can reduce the entire size of it, and which can increase the energy density. CONSTITUTION:A battery module 3 is formed by collecting a plurality of cells 2, and a plurality of the battery modules 3 are stacked while each battery module 3 is stored in a heat insulated container 4, to form a battery. The heat insulated container 4 is formed into a box, either the upper surface or the lower surface of which is opened. While the heat insulated containers 4 are stacked, an opening part 5 of each heat insulated container 4 is closed by the lower or upper surface of the heat insulated container 4 located in the close proximity. The upper surface and the lower surface will not superimposed with one another, and the battery of a reduced size is thus formed. |
