The pole has a threaded foot (1) which is pushed into the snow. It is joined to an upper tube (3) by a flexible section (2), on which it can turn. The base of the upper tube is pushed on to an end-piece (21), fixed to the section by pins (22). A ring (4) on top of the end-piece is held by a sleeve (5), fixed by pins (50). The upper tube is fixed to the ring by screws (30). The flexible section between the lower pins and the screws forms a shock absorber when a skier hits the pole.
