PURPOSE:To increase cooling efficiency of a coil by a method wherein the coil is divided into two parts and arranged along both walls of a slot, and a hollow is formed in the central portion of the slot by spreading the end portions of the coil toward the ends of the slot. CONSTITUTION:A stator coil 20 is arranged along both the walls of a slot within the slot 12, and a hollow 14 wherein no coil is formed in the central portion of the slot. Furthermore, the end portions 22 are spreaded over both ends of the slot 12, and allowed to open from the hollow 14 to a trumpet-shaped portion. By so doing, since part of cooling air flows into the hollow 14 from one side of the trumpet-shaped portion 15 and the air flows out of the other side of the trumpet-shaped portion 15, it is possible to increase the cooling effect of the coil 20 within the slot 12. |
