One end of the sack is suspended from hangers (8,9) in the top of the silo (1), which can move outwards and upwards as the volume of the sack changes. An activating mechanism (11-16) is connected to the free ends of the hangers (9), and this comprises cables (11) operated by a windlass which pass around pulleys (12,14) and are attached to counter weights (15). The hangers (8,9) have two positions, one where they are not spread out, the sack hangs in a collapsed state, and the other where they are spread wide, the sack can accept maximum volume. On the outside of the silo is fixed a vertical ladder (6) surrounded by a hooped safety guard. USE/ADVANTAGE - Especially for storing fodder for agricultural purposes.
