Hollow roller used for paper-making machines - has inner channels for a heat carrier and outer coolant channels

The hollow roller, with a cylinder cover at the ends for the flange journals, has within its hollow interior an inner channel system for a heat carrier medium and an outer channel system for a coolant. The outer channel systems of both cylinder covers are pref. interconnected through tube connections within the roller body. The inner channel systems of both cylinder covers are interconnected through axially parallel drillings in the roller mantle. The cylinder cover, displacement body and the roller mantle are connected to incoming channels for the feed and exhaust systems, each with a closed circuit for the heat carrier medium and the coolant. The channel systems are worked into the cylinder cover for the part next to the channels for the heat carrier in the roller mantle and the part next to the flange journal for the coolant. The channel system at both end sides are interconnected. USE/ADVANTAGE - The hollow roller is used esp. for polishing or calender roller or drying cylinder for a paper-making machine. The structure gives a constant temp. over the roller length, and esp. at the roller edge zones.
