Balancing system for reciprocating engine - incorporates out-of-balance weights on shafts geared to crankshaft

The balancing and vibration suppression system is for a reciprocating engine. It uses the shafts (31,32,33), two of which (31,32) rotate in the same direction as the crankshaft and one (33) rotates in the opposite direction to the crankshaft. Out-of-balance masses (34) are attached to these shafts, and their magnitude and their phase are chosen so that the forces they generate are equal and opposite to the forces generated by the crank and the piston. Further systems may be used with four shafts carrying out-of-balance weights. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suppression of vibrations generated in IC reciprocating engine.
