<p>A novel allyl ester oligomer having excellent curability and a resin composition for making artificial marble which has an appearance of depth characteristic of marble and is excellent in strength, abrasion resistance and moldability, which composition contains said oligomer. The oligomer has, as the essential structure, an ester residue containing an unsaturated carbon-carbon double bond derived from maleic or fumaric acid within its molecule and an allyl ester group at the terminal. Further it may have, as the internal structure, a residue derived from terephthalic or isophthalic acid. The resin composition comprises 30 to 95 wt% of the allyl ester oligomer and 70 to 5 wt% of a reactive monomer such as styrene, methyl methacrylate or diallyl phthalate.</p> |
