The thermistor (1) is held against the floor of the housing (2) under a contact disc (8) by the spring (9), which provides electrical continuity with electronic components on a circuit board (10). The top (3) of the housing carries a plug with two pins (4,5) for supplying outputs to a thermometer and a warning lamp respectively. The circuit board carries a full bridge circuit having the thermistor in one arm together with a comparator connected across the diagonal of the bridge and an electronic switch such as a power transistor providing the lamp current.
