The parallel computer contains a number of independently operating computer units which interact via a coupling system. The coupling system has a network bus card (10) carrying a number of computer units (18), each contg. a number of computers, and a number of network conductors (12) and coupling cards. The coupling cards are arranged in the indivuidual computer units and connected to the network highway, into which they can be pref. plugged. Each coupling card has a selector unit which connects defined data conductors of each computer to defined network bus conductors. ADVANTAGE - The parallel computer can simply adapt to the addition and removal of computer units.
