Using only one stepping motor, this apparatus performes the transmitting mode, the receiving mode, the duplicating mode, and the rewinding mode. This apparatus comprises a sun gear (17) which is installed to rotate by one stepping motor, an idler arm (19) which rotates on the same axle with the sun gear, an idler gear (20) which transforms a motive power selectively to a read-out gear (15) and a writing gear (16), and a connecting gear (22) which engages always with the writting gear and selectively with the idler gear.
