<p>A prokaryote which is transformed with DNA which includes at least one DNA sequence which encodes immunity to a lytic bacteriophage. The prokaryote can be a bacterium, and in particular a mycobacterium. Such transformed mycobacteria may be employed in vaccines, and thereby eliminating the need for vaccines including mycobacteria having antibiotic resistance markers.</p> |
