METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OCULAR MOTILITY TESTING

In a method of ocular motility testing, a target light spot (11) is displayed at successive different positions on a screen (12) and an observer's (14) gaze directions (L, R) for either or both eyes are detected for each target position all in conjunction with computer control (15, 17, 18) and data storage means (19) so that ocular motility data can be derived with improved efficiency and reliability. Apparatus for use in such testing comprises a console (15) driven projector/screen (10, 12) arrangement, gaze-direction detecting means (16), computing means (17, 18) for handling target and visual axis position calculations and data storage means (19). A comparator (20) processes the stored data to provide VDU (21) or printer output (22).
