The invention concerns a machine for cutting workpieces (34) made of cellular material, mineral wool, plastic, felt, etc. With prior art machines, the workpieces lies on a support belt (33) which is held still during the cutting operation and which has a slit (90) which can be moved in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the support belt, permitting the cutting tool (3) to pass through the support plane (91). The support belt (33) is either passed round the cutting tool (3) near the slit (90) by means of guide rollers (92, 93) or two separate continuous belts are used which form the slit (90) between them and which have compensating rollers for longitudinal compensation. Both of these approaches are unsuitable for the execution of accurate and, in particular, rapid automatic cuts. The cutting machine proposed avoids the disavantages of prior art machines and has a two-part support belt (86, 87) which is taken up from the support plane (91) or released into the support plane (91), as necessary, near the slit (90) by driven winding drums (77, 78). |
