An imidazole derivative represented by general formula (I), wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. A process for producing the derivative or salt, and a pharmaceutical use thereof, in particular, a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for diseases induced by thromboxane A2 or histamine. A compound represented by genenral formula (II) or (IV), wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification. The imidazole derivative and the salt are useful as a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for diseases induced by thromboxane A2 or histamine, and the compounds (II) and (IV) are novel.
