<p>Basic carbonaceous, low iron, fired or unfired magnesite and dolomite refractory lining bricks with a lime/silica content of 1.6 and higher contain 1-5 wt.% finely divided Cr2O3. For unfired bricks the Cr2O3 is first mixed with the fine fraction of a sinter material mixture. For fire bricks the finely divided Cr2O3 is finely dispersed in the brick together with carbon bonding impregnating material, e.g. tar. The bricks are used as basic metallurgical process vessel linings, esp. in acid convertors.</p> |
