<p>N-Alkylamino benzamides prodn. Cpds. (where A = lower alkyl, n = 2 or 3; B = amino or alkylamino; X = halo; R and R1 = C1-5 alkyl) are prepd. by (i) esterification of 4-alkyl salicyclic acid derivs. e.g. creosotic acid, (ii) alkylation of the phenol gp., (iii) 5-halogenation; (iv) amide formation; (v) oxidation of the CH3 deriv. to cooh and then forming the NH2 deriv. via the acid azide.</p> |
