2131529 9320043 PCTABS00027 Disclosed are a class of phenolic-hydrazide compounds of structure (I) and (II) which are useful as stabilizers for polyolefins. The phenolic-hydrazide compounds inhibit oxidative degradation of polyolefins which is attributable to heat and/or ultraviolet light and is promoted or accelerated by metals, e.g., copper, in contact with the polyolefin. In formula (I) and (II) A is hydrogen or a group having formula (a); B is a group having formula (b), (c), (d) or (e); L is a divalent, trivalent or tetravalent hydrocarbon radical having up to about 12 carbon atoms.
